About Me

I’m a writer of women’s fiction now seeking representation for my first novel Nothing Happens For a Reason set in London and 1970s Brooklyn, and busy writing my second.  I belong to a small writers’ circle with an inspiring mentor and am also a member of a long-established and highly opinionated book group.

Originally from Salisbury, Wiltshire, I studied Modern Languages at Oxford before moving to London where I’m the lone female in a household consisting of my bike-mad doctor husband and two sons aged 14 and 10.  Lots of mud and yelling at sport on TV.  It’s OK, I have a room of my own which is off-limits to the likes of them.

For more on my novel, my inspirations and what makes me tick, see My Interview with Peter Hobbs and for the kind of stuff you wouldn’t usually find on a bio page, A Real Character – Or in this Case, Me

About My Blog

I started this blog in September 2011, inspired by my love of reading and talking about good novels – it’s what I do all the time ‘in real life’.  Here you’ll find indepth reviews, listings and articles about fiction from the perspective of both readers and writers.  I hope you find something for your ‘To Be Read’ list and I look forward to hearing what excites you in the world of books.  Thanks for reading….
